Plant care instruction
- Amaranthus can be grown throughout the year, best grown in summer season in home garden
- Sowing method: Sow the seeds directly in raised beds or containers; use a shallow sowing container with a minimum depth of 5 inches and bigger spread area (according to available space and requirement) like trays or crates.
- Sowing Techniques in Container: Take a container of your choice with uniform drainage holes at the bottom fill the container with selected growing medium of 2 part garden soil and 1 part any organic manure or 1 part garden soil, 1 part coco peat and 1 part Vermicompost.
- Green Amaranthus seeds are very tiny in size, so mix the seeds with fine sand & sprinkle this mixed powder over the container soil medium or a raised bed.
- Water the sown seed bed immediately by a light shower with a watering can. Seeds will germinate within the first six days, or even earlier and tiny seedlings will be visible with first leaves and baby green Amaranthus plants will be visible in 10-15 days and mature leaves will be ready to be harvested in 30 days.
