Plant care instruction

  • Radish can be grown in Monsoon and best grown in winter season for home gardening
  • Sowing method: Sow the seeds directly on raised beds or in containers.
  • Growing in container: Choose a container with a minimum depth of 12-14 inches and a bigger spread area (according to available space & your requirement) like the deep rectangular containers. Put growing medium of 2 part Garden Soil & 1 part any organic manure or 1 part garden soil, 1 part coco-peat & 1 part Vermicompost.
  • Sowing: Take a container of your choice with uniform drainage holes at the bottom, fill the container with selected growing medium & Make shallow holes (1 cm) throughout the surface of soil medium, sow 2-3 seeds per hole & push the little seeds bit in soil medium with your fingers & completely cover them with surrounding soil & water the sown seed bed immediately by a light shower with a watering can.
  • Radish Seeds will germinate within the first six days or even much earlier & tiny seedlings will be visible with first leaves and baby seedlings will be visible in 10-15 days. If more than one seed has germinated per hole, cut off the smaller seedlings and only keep one seedling per hole.
